Illinois No Cell Phones in School Zone Law

Beginning January 1st, 2010 Illinois’s new law restricting cell phone use in school zones goes into effect. Illinois’s Public Act 096-0131 prohibits cell phone use while driving in a school zone.

Specifically:

A person, regardless of age, may not use a wireless telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a roadway in a school speed zone
